Life keeps moving along
Well hello there. It’s been too long. I’m actually sitting in my sociology class updating from my iPhone! This is my first mobile update and my first one in about 4 months.
Life is good. As a full time student I have more free time, however I’m still working about 30 hours a week. Most of those hours are late-night so they don’t interfere with my non-existant study habits, however I tend to miss class quite frequently. Despite these things I am maintaining a B- average in my classes. Yes, I am OK with a B-. Seriously, college is much easier than high school.
In my personal life, as Isaac Brock would say, “I bought a few things that I sort of regret about now.” I purchased a Marshall AVT 150 half-stack used off of some kid outside of Philadelphia, planning to use it to play with my friends’ band My Friends. Upon plugging it in it doesn’t work. Now I’m going to have to pay more just to have it looked at.
All in all, I don’t really regret it. I have also decided to collect vinyl. I bought a record player from Rainbow and a sweet $25 Sony receiver from the Thrift! First order of business: Lonesome Crowded West & Long Drive eBay search. Nothing has turned up yet but the search continues!
Switching topics, my desire for the endless open road continues. As of late I’ve been concerned with the amount of debt this college degree is going to put me in and how that is going to affect my freedom to travel as I wish. This, coupled with my massive 6 year car payment plan, has led to my solid belief that credit is a form of control. Luckily we have the freedom to make the choice not to accept this. As for me, I have no desire to lose my freedom to live as I want and go as I please. I have, hopefully, 60 more years to make that choice when I feel like it is time. Likely when I want to start a family. Which in itself is a terrifying concept to me. There’s just so much else I want to do and see right now.
Well, the weather is getting warmer and class is about to let out so I should go enjoy life. I can’t promise to keep this blog update, but I will try.
